EMPG - Providing Returns on a Nation's Investment:

Often referred to as the “backbone of the nation’s emergency management system,” the Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) allows state, tribal, and local governments to make key investments in building capacity and enhancing the capability of states and localities to respond to disasters. NEMA - Homeland Security Grant Program Proposal and Report:

“This is a report prepared by NEMA regarding the effectiveness and accomplishments of the Homeland Security and Urban Area Security initiative programs. It has been submitted to Appropriations Committees of the House and Senate to enhance the discussion regarding these two programs.

NEMA believes that this will be a constructive addition to the ongoing debate regarding the future of homeland security grant programs. In December, NEMA will release its assessment of reforms to the homeland security grant programs that will allow for greater effectiveness of investments by the nation in pursuit of the protection of our citizens.”
