Disaster Assistance Grants

Disaster Assistance grants enable local and state governments, special purpose districts, private nonprofit organizations, Indian tribes, and state citizens to recover from the immediate and longterm impacts of disasters.

Disaster Assistance Grants include:

  • Public Agency Disaster Assistance Program - The Public Assistance Program enables local and state governments, special purpose districts, private nonprofit organizations, and Indian tribes to recover from the immediate and longterm impacts of disasters.
  • Fire Management Assistance Grant Program (FMAGP) For Public Agencies - The federally funded Fire Management Assistance Grant Program (FMAGP) provides financial assistance to state, local, and tribal governments for the mitigation, management, and control of fires on publicly or privately owned forests or grasslands.
  • Disaster Assistance for Individuals and Households - The American Red Cross (ARC), Salvation Army, and other voluntary organizations active in disaster can and will provide immediate aid in the way of clothing, emergency food, medical assistance, emergency shelter, clean-up help, transportation help, and furniture.
