On March 18, 2008 the Chehalis Eagles building caught on fire. This building was being used by the United Way of Lewis County as a warehouse and distribution center of donated goods for flood victims of Lewis County due to the December 2007 flood.

The United Way of Lewis County and the Washington Interfaith Disaster Recovery Organization are seeking donations in the form of cash or gift cards to replace the lost items. Donation and contact information:

A state hotline and email address have been opened to assist December flood survivors whose essential needs have not been met through federal disaster assistance programs. More information: EMD Disaster Unmet Needs Hotline: 253.507.6420   Email address:   unmetneeds@emd.wa.gov

The Department of Social and Health Services is providing Disaster Outreach Services to those who were impacted by the flooding and windstorm of December 2007. The program provides supportive counseling, stress management and help in dealing with the trauma due to this event. For assistance call: 1.800.850.8775.

The Friends of Lewis County Animal Shelter is helping to care for the animals in Lewis County affected by the floods. Donations of hay and grain are still needed and all monetary donations will help to purchase feed for these animals.
